Observations of Six Glitches in PSR B 1737 − 30

چکیده
Six glitches have been recently observed in the rotational frequency of the young pulsar PSR B1737−30 (J1740−3015) using the 25-m Nanshan telescope of Urumqi Observatory. With a total of 20 glitches in 20 years, it is one of the most frequently glitching pulsars of the ∼1750 known pulsars. Glitch amplitudes are very variable with fractional increases in rotation rate ranging from 10 to 10. Inter-glitch intervals are also very variable, but no relationship is observed between interval and the size of the preceding glitch. There is a persistent increase in |ν̇|, opposite in sign to that expected from slowdown with a positive braking index, which may result from changes in the effective magnetic dipole moment of the star during the glitch.

Glitches in slow pulsars
We have analyzed 5.5 years of timing observations of 7 “slowly” rotating radio pulsars, made with the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope. We present improved timing solutions and 30, mostly small, new glitches. Particularly interesting are our results on PSR J1814−1744, which is one of the pulsars with similar rotation parameters and magnetic field strength to the Anomalous X-ray Pulsars (AXP...
متن کاملObservations of Fourteen Pulsar Glitches
About 76 glitches in 25 pulsars have been reported to date. Most glitches are ‘giant’, with fractional increases of frequency ∆ν0/ν0 ∼ 10 . 25 glitches were analysed and presented by Shemar & Lyne (1996) who detected them mainly at Jodrell Bank during the monitoring of a sample of 279 pulsars in a regular timing programme up to MJD 49500. This paper is a continuation of their work up to MJD 505...
متن کاملGlitch Observations in Slow Pulsars
We have analyzed 5.5 years of timing observations of 7 " slowly " rotating radio pulsars, made with the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope. We present improved timing solutions and 30, mostly small new glitches. The most interesting results are: 1) The detection of glitches one to two orders of magnitude smaller than ever seen before in slow radio pulsars. 2) Resolving timing-noise looking st...
متن کاملGlitches in Southern Pulsars
Timing observations of 40 mostly young pulsars using the ATNF Parkes radio telescope between 1990 January and 1998 December are reported. In total, 20 previously unreported glitches and ten other glitches were detected in 11 pulsars. These included 12 glitches in PSR J1341−6220, corresponding to a glitch rate of 1.5 glitches per year. We also detected the largest known glitch, in PSR J1614−5047...
متن کاملTiming noise , glitches and the braking index of PSR B 0540 − 69
We report a pulse-time history of PSR B0540−69 based on the analysis of an extended Data set including ASCA, BeppoSAX and RXTE observations spanning a time interval of about 8 years. This interval includes also the epoch of the glitch episode reported by Zhang et al. (2001). Our analysis shows the presence of a relevant timing noise and does not give a clear evidence of the glitch occurrence. W...
